Our sessions take place throughout Staffordshire and the surrounding areas, including Stafford, Lichfield, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Longton, Hanley, Etruria, Westport, Penkridge, Cannock Chase, Birches Valley and Marquis Drive.
Unlike traditional classroom-based courses, these workshops take place outdoors, allowing you to learn photography while actively taking photographs in real-world environments.

Photography Workshops for Beginners & Enthusiasts
Most workshops are aimed at beginners, although photographers of all experience levels are welcome.
During each session you’ll receive guidance on:
- Camera settings and exposure
- Composition techniques
- Working with natural and artificial light
- Capturing movement and action
- Choosing lenses and equipment
- Developing your creative eye
- Understanding your DSLR or mirrorless camera
Workshops are intentionally kept small (usually no more than 12 people) to provide plenty of opportunities for questions, feedback and individual guidance.

If you’re looking for a Staffordshire photography group, photography club or photography meetup, our workshops provide a welcoming environment where photographers can learn, practise and meet like-minded people.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or an enthusiast looking to improve your skills, our photography workshops and photography walks are designed to help you become a more confident photographer in a relaxed and friendly environment.
More than just individual workshops, we’re building a welcoming photography community across Staffordshire where people can return regularly, develop their skills together, share ideas, and enjoy photography alongside like-minded people.
What Equipment Do I Need?
Workshops are designed for DSLR and mirrorless camera users of all brands.
Participants should bring:
- Camera
- Fully charged batteries
- Memory cards
- Appropriate lenses
- Tripod or monopod where required
- Any additional accessories they wish to use such as filters, remote triggers
Smartphone users are welcome to attend, although much of the teaching is aimed at interchangeable-lens cameras.
